This is a post in our Whatapp-Group from Sheran

Hey Lars,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It's good to have open discussions about what's important for the clan. Understanding Team Value I completely understand your focus on having a strong, reliable team. It's crucial for success. A good clan allows us to build that core group, which translates to better performance. Beyond Just Performance, However, the clan can offer more than just winning. It's a community where we learn from each other's strategies and skills. Celebrate victories together, creating a more rewarding experience. Offer support and encouragement after losses, fostering a positive environment. These aspects contribute to a stronger overall team spirit, which can benefit us all in the long run. Respecting Individual Decisions While you might see leaving the clan as a betrayal, sometimes people's needs and gaming styles evolve. Open communication helps us understand the reasons for leaving, and it allows everyone to move forward with respect. Friendships Within the Clan You mentioned your team being more essential than friendships. While having a strong team is crucial, friendships can strengthen the team spirit. Shared experiences and connections within the game can boost morale and make playing together even more enjoyable. Value of a Thriving Clan A strong, active clan attracts new players who share our passion for the game. This constant growth keeps the experience fresh and allows us to learn from new perspectives. It also creates a sense of belonging and support that goes beyond individual games. Compromise and Improvement While your focus on loyalty is admirable, perhaps there's a middle ground. We can strive to build a strong core team within the clan while fostering a welcoming environment for new members and those who might return in the future.

What do you think?

Maybe we can brainstorm some ideas on how to achieve this balance. Your passion for the team is valuable, and together, we can make the clan an even better place for everyone.

  1. Core Team: I think we are a strong core team already, we are all - without an exception - in this group. (Only Gerry is missing, I would count him to the core) I learned, that nobody can be in the core team without being here. Only here (means WhatsApp) not inside of PUBG you can discuss things.
  2. Performance : We went through a performance time some month ago, we played great and were in the top 25% of Europe. I call it an amazing performance.
  3. Reasons for Leaving : I can’t see any reason. If your playing style changes? Could this be a reason? I doubt this. If someone breaks with closest friends, than this guy has to stand their ground, than this guy break with the entire Team. I would be glad to read one reason… so I can understand better and maybe I can learn. Even if you decide to play only Solo, why not stay here a contribut points to your clan? You will stop playing PUBG for ever? Why do you close all doors? You don’t like one of our friends/members? We have other players, all of them should be worth to fight with them. The only reason I could imagine is, if someone doesn’t agree with the Leadership, maybe the mentally, maybe someone has chosen simply the wrong clan. This can happen, but not after 100 hours playing and fighting, winning and loosing together.
  4. Betraying : Leaving the clan, leaving people you spend so many hours with (e.g. Sabrina: 270 hours!) is not betraying. But thinking (at least for me) everything is like always, no, this will not work for me.
  5. Welcoming environment : I hope we have this environment. What can I improve, what will make it better?
  6. Returning guys : We have not a good experience with these guys. They left the Clan for no reason and maybe come back for what reason exactly?
  7. Constant growth : Our Clan grows with every match. But our Clan lost if it grows out of control. I made this mistake in the past. We need members, but we need not all.
  8. Open communication : We can discuss any issue here but I can’t discuss anything inside PUBG, it’s impossible.
  9. Motivation : I have no other friends than MY friends here in this Clan. This is the reason why you all are so important for me. Without you I would quit this game instantly. You all are my motivation.
  10. Friends vs. MY friends : Friends (like friends in anyone’s friendlist) do not exist in my pubg world, so there is no room for friendship outside our Clan. Maybe a friend who left the Clsn can be an interesting guy, but no longer my friend. I will not treat my friends like the guys in my friendlist. Friends in my friendlist are only interesting not more. Interesting for joining us maybe, interesting because they are leaders or I want to see if good opponents are online and also important: a guys who is a good friend of one of MY friends. E.g. Projector is a (the first) friend of James… if someone of you leaves the Clan, I will not loose only a „friend“ I will loose one of „my friends“ these friends are rare and you know all of them… it should now be understandable, why I have to fight a sometimes very stupid and most dumb fight to bring anyone back home.
  11. Friends in my friendlist : In most cases I do not invite them and do not follow their invites. I better play alone and wait for one of my friends…
  12. Your friends : Anyone of you know what we are and why we are here. So anyone is invited to bring their friends (the really true good friends) into our clan. I did it already. You are my friends I do not have more. You should not be in my pretty useless friendlist with 30 others so called „friends“. They are good people, smart people and good players, but all of them are far behind your meaning for me. I would love to play with your true friends and I would try to bring them into our Clan, with your permission.
  13. Friendship : For me the Clan is a wall of friendship. This makes this Clan (I always try to avoid writing „my Clan“ because it’s also your Clan, you are the owners, it would be nothing without you) so much more valuable and so important for me.
  14. Balance : It’s always difficult to find a balance between two things. What could be a balance between „with best friends“ and „not with them“?. Why should I play with a friend in a clan battle? Why together? We only gain points for our clan if we play with our Clan members not with friends. Friends are not part of us and do not play for our Clan. Maybe for the team, but never for the Clan.

Of course if the mentality of „just play the game“ is the main thing, then friendlist and being in a Clan is exactly the same, but it should not be the same it should be more.
